I am interested in aquatic community ecology, including food web dynamics, foraging, and invasive species. My research explores how individual behaviors, traits, and environmental conditions influence the strength or weakness of trophic interactions. Here at UAF, I am working on two projects. The first compares the food resources and growth opportunities of juvenile salmonids across a mosaic of habitats in the glacial Susitna River. The second investigates freshwater predation on Chinook salmon fry and smolts in the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim region, and tests whether predation risk is related to streamflow or salmon size and condition.

UAF is an AA/EO employer and educational institution.
